Reviewing CIPP and Rehabilitation Projects from 2022

As we close out 2022, we at Abel Recon would like to reflect on what was a big year for us. There is no question that labor challenges were one of the biggest hurdles we, and the nation, were tasked with overcoming. Between promotions, the world assessing life priorities, and a young work force tasked with filling the void in the labor shortage, we overcame a lot. The best teams are forged though overcoming adversity and mastering challenges. We are grateful for the group of people who are still with us. We strive to give you the tools to lead you through the darkness, and the opportunity to become a leader within the company. Thank you for sticking with us, we truly can not do it without you.

On the CIPP lining (cast-in-place-pipe) side of the Abel Recon, we hit an industry milestone that says a lot about how far we have come since our founding in 2005 as an infrastructure rehabilitation contractor. In 2022, we officially installed our 1,000,000th linear foot of UV-cured GRP liner. To those unfamiliar, that milestone has only been reached by a select few European installers who have been working with the material since the mid-1980’s. This milestone is a testament to the premium Reline America CIPP material we install, and the versatility of our crews over the last seventeen years.

From the spray applied rehabilitation side of Abel Recon, we accomplished another milestone for our manufacturer. As of June 2022, we successfully completed a clarifier lining project for DC Water, which was the largest material order from SprayRoq to date. In addition to that landmark project, we continue to develop the structural rehabilitation business for stormwater pipes by adding four large diameter structures to our growing portfolio, one of which was a twin 60” pipe structure for PennDOT in Juniata County.

Finally, we signed our first EnBiorganic Technologies service agreement with an authority. Silver Spring Township Authority agreed to a 12-month enrollment for the EBS-Di to continue its bio-augmentation for their 1.2 MGD facility. During an initial trial period, the authority realized system wide benefits included a 37% reduction in energy consumption and 62% reduction in sludge handling costs! They were convinced of the benefits and agreed to a 12-month continuation of the service.

We want to thank our customers, partners, manufacturers, and employees for a great year and excited to see what 2023 has in store. Happy New Year!
